SVB user interface -> Shield Assistant

The Shield Assistant is is shown in Fig. 1 and is used to define a three-dimensional shield arrangement for a pre-existing design. Fig. 2 illustrates a possible device display result from selecting the shield-system style shown in Fig. 1.  Shield components interact with the rest of the device through the fields produced by the magnetic charges that are induced on their surfaces. You typically invoke the Shield Assistant at the latter part of your design session after much of the device structure is in place. The Shield Assistant is launched by selecting its entry from the short-cut menu that is displayed by right-clicking the x node (or any of its sub-nodes in the SVB control window). The main functional areas of the Shield Assistant are shown in Fig 1 :

A. Shield system styles are specified here. Schematic depictions and summary descriptions of selected styles are also displayed here.

B. In this area the user selects the particular shield component of the chosen system style to edit, and then specifies its  material and geometric properties.
