In this tutorial you will learn how to use Cellider by loading and working with a Magsimus Deluxe design session. However, keep in mind that Cellider works identically the same for all MagOasis application software.  To benefit most from this tutorial, we recommend reading it and practicing along with the examples from beginning to end. You do not need an active Magsimus Deluxe license to follow this tutorial -- the demo mode of the program will do just fine.

Assumptions

Cellider is a Microsoft™ Windows™ program. As such, this tutorial assumes a basic familiarity by you with using programs under the Windows operating system.

Tutorial files

The design file and other files used for this tutorial are included as part of your MagOasis software installation under the Magsimus Examples folder (../Magsimus/Examples). The zip file MagOasisTutorialFiles.ZIP in the Magsimus Resources folder (../Magsimus/Resources), is an archive of all MagOasis tutorial files. You can also download this archive from the MagOasis download page http://www.magoasis.com/Downloads.htm.

What is Cellider?

Cellider is a utility program for creating different patterns in array components of open sessions of any of the MagOasis application software products, Magsimus Deluxe, Spin-valve Bench (SVB) or Ultra Recording Simulator (URS). These array components can be of material (magnetic or non-magnetic) types, or be field array components that are used to represent spatial magnetic field variations. The patterning of an array entails the selective “turning on and off” of its computational cells to obtain a desired sample shape. This capability greatly enhances the versatility of all MagOasis application software. Cellider allows you to form patterns manually as well as by applying standard shapes or graphic masks imported from external files. Within Cellider you can easily navigate and apply changes to different parts of a component.  You can also work with multiple application sessions simultaneously.
